Transforming Homes Webinar 1: Design Research approaches for transforming homes for future generations
The Transforming Housing and Homes for Future Generations Arts and Humanities Research Council project set out to transform 1920-1940’s council-built housing. Our aim is to make homes fit for future generations, improving the quality, health and living experience for residents, reducing residential operational energy bills and delivering holistic ‘Beyond Net Zero’ solutions, whilst increasing the use of biobased materials.
Using Design Research, appropriate and transferable designs have been developed in partnership with residents, community members, industry and government through Co-Design. Demonstration homes in Bristol and Swansea are progressing; learnings are being revealed and shared.
Transforming Homes Webinar 1: Design Research is the first of a three-part webinar series, running throughout June and July 2025. Each webinar will showcase the innovative work of the Transforming Homes consortium in collaboration with key stakeholders, providing insights into how Design Research and Co-Design can be used transform our housing stock.
